The Warrior's Cove Team

The Warrior's Cove had 10 members that participated in this tournament, and more that went to observe and support or team. Our ten members won 7 gold and 2 silvers! (2 more silvers were uncontested). The winners were as follows:

  • Tony DeRosier   1 Silver - No Gi Division (Uncontested)

  • Jason Erickson   1 Silver - No Gi Division (Uncontested)

  • Babatunde Fabunmi    2 Gold - Gi and No Gi Divisions

  • Ryan Iverson   1 Gold - Gi Division

  • Chul Kwak   1 Gold - No Gi Division

  • Joshua Lebsock   1 Gold - Gi Division

  • Trinity McDanel 1 Silver - Gi Division (Lost to Rodrigo Vaghi's Student)

  • Andrew Pudwill   1 Silver - No Gi Division

  • Mike Yochim   2 Gold - Gi and No Gi Divisions

In Addition, there were 3 more competitors representing the Rickson Gracie International Jiu Jitsu Association as follows:

  • Jerome Cheatham, an old Warrior's Cove member that now trains under Rickson's Chicago Representative, Dino Costeas, won 2 Gold in the Gi and No Gi Divisions. 
        

  • Nenad Dragojlovich, another current student of Dino Costeas, won an 8 to 0 superfight against Henry Matamoras. This was an impressive victory due to the fact that Nenad is a blue belt, and Henry is a brown belt!
        

  • Leandro Massaro, a Rodrigo Vaghi student from Omaha, took Gold in the Gi Division.

Out of the 13 members representing the Rickson Gracie International Jiu Jitsu Association, we brought home at least 11 gold and 2 silver. Congratulations everyone!

If you are interested in taking one or more classes at the Warrior's Cove, we suggest you visit during the class you are interested in. We have a seating area for visitors. You may stop by as many times as you like to watch classes. You may also participate in one free class in each program that we offer.  You will find both our instructors and the other members to be friendly, informative, and supportive.
